Meditation

Stop what you are doing.  Sit comfortably, back straight and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths, conscious breaths.  Be aware of yourself sitting comfortably, be aware of your feet connected to the earth, send some roots down from the soles of your feet just like a tree and

Breathe in through the nose,

Out through the mouth (7 times)

Breathe in through the nose, hold it,

Exhale through the mouth (7 times), hold it,

Breathe . . . . .

This takes just a few seconds to silence the stream of thinking – stop thinking – just be aware of the breath.

Bringing awareness to the present moment several times a day will improve your sense of peace and make you instantly less anxious.

Meditation is a state of deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent.  Meditation is a state of thoughtless awareness.  To meditate is to learn how to stop – to stop being carried away by our regrets about the part, our anger or despair in the present or our worries about the future.

Meditation is a tool for the re-discovery of the body’s own inner intelligence.  Practiced for thousands of years, it’s not about forcing the mind to be quiet, it’s finding the silence that’s already there and making it a part of your life.  Even when your mind is filled with agitated thoughts, you still have access to the inner stillness and calm that always lies beneath the choppy surface of though and emotion.

Even as your body is resting deeply in meditation, your mind is awake, though quiet.  The term "restful awareness" captures the unique combination of physical relaxation and an alert yet quiet mind.

In today’s world where stress catches on faster than the eye can see or the mind can perceive, meditation is no more a luxury, it is a necessity.  To be unconditionally happy and to have peace of mind, we need to tap into the power of meditation.

Meditation is for male and female, anyone who would like to take the time to breathe, to step back from a busy life and take time for themselves, to benefit body, mind and soul.

With every breath I take,
positive energy flows in.
